For the perfect G&T top off your gin with Fever Tree Tonic

First things first! Where does Gin & Tonic actually comes from? Well the G&T goes all the way back to India where quinine was used in the 17th century as a medicine against malaria. Quinine is a flavor component of tonic water and bitter lemon and back in the days these came in a powdered form. The army of the British East India Company in India started to mix the quinine with sugar, carbonated water, lime and gin to mask the bitter taste of the powder. Et voila our well favorite Saturday night drink was born. It was in 1870 when the official tonic water was introduced and the G&T found fame across the world.

There are hundreds of different gins to choose from and we all have our favorite but what’s exactly the best tonic to prepare our G&T with?

One of our favorites is Fever Tree and let us explain why. This Indian Tonic water is made with the highest quality quinine and quinine formed the start back in the days for the G&T right? By blending the best botanical oils with spring water and the highest quality quinine from the ‘fever trees’ of the Eastern Congo, Fever Tree has created a delicious, natural, award winning tonic with a uniquely clean and refreshing taste and aroma. Designed to enhance the very best gins or vodkas.

What we especially love a bout this tonic is the fact that the finish is clean with none of the usual cloying mouth feel created by artificial sweeteners, which are often used in the other tonics. Another important differentiator is the texture; the high carbonation of Fever Tree delivers aromas and taste in a classic, refreshing style.

Are you ready for your G&T? Enjoy the weekend!
